New Author Spotlight
Meroe Publishing is proud to introduce a talented new writer to the literary
stage, Mr. Tonie J. Short. With the publication of this first novel, Mr. Short’s
career as a published author has begun.
Growing up in the South as a black child without a father during the
decade following the Civil Rights movement was a turbulent time for Mr.
Short. He and his family struggled though poverty and discrimination,
largely in part due to the determination of his mother, who fought for her
family – especially her gifted son.
The new novel, The Gifted Child: John’s Saga, is the first published work
from Mr. Short. From the opening scene to the shocking end, audiences
will experience the wonders and pains of childhood memories, shame for
the discrimination involved, and determination to see John succeed.
The Gifted Child: John’s Saga is recommended reading for most age
groups. It is the goal of Meroe Publishing to locate and showcase the
refreshing works of new artists such as Mr. Short.
